Formula 1

Well i'm a huge formula one fan so I'm gonna start a thread to discuss it.

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/06/14/t...auctioned-off/

Sad news, USF1 which looked promising for a while, didn't cut the mustard. They auctioned everything off today.

Also, did anyone watch Turkey? The two Red Bull teammates crashing in first and second place!! Taking Vet out of the race, I personally think Webber is more at fault but it's quite the debate.

sucks, but it wasnt looking good from the beginning. Hopefully in the next 10 years they will be able to make a competitive car with new rule changes and technology improvements that could bring the price down.

I was excited about the possibility of a US F1 team when they first announced it. Unfortunately without serious backing it was a tough sell. Hopefully the new track in Austin for the US GP will generate more US interest in F1 and might pave the way for another US-based team.

I think they were a little ambitious as well. Most other teams buy engines or chassis from the established people in the industry, like cosworth or ferrari or lola etc.

USF1 was going to make their own custom chassis and engine. That's a massive undertaking.
