I would seriously look at some jeep forums and junkyards, you can prolly get the grill for $50 which aint bad especially if you find one that just needs paint and maybe a lil bit of work but rust free of course...good luck

if your ever down here in NC let me know we can take the jeep to URE and have a lil fun at least

actually for that vintage jeep it may aswell be a 350 Chevrolet.

But the 4.7 is by FAR my favorite chrysler engine. as long as you change the oil RELIGIOUSLY it will last forever and have good power. Not to mention is probobly has the best intake and exhaust note of any mopar mill being it is one of the rare Overhead Cam engines in the V8 lineup.

Leiter, take off the intake air box on the durango and listen to that sucker with an open air stream, it sounds amazing and might get the wife to like it better

I'll take your suggestion and one-up it with an actual attempt... tonight.

As far as the 350, that's also on the table. The motors are easy and cheap to find. Can get a motor and transmission for $1k with harnesses and all..

Nice work. Do you do any off-roading in it?

Got to love those projects man. I actually agree with Evan on his Mopar statement (i can't believe i just said that) that motor is pretty serious. we had the h.o. one in our grand cherokee overland and it was stout.

the cherokee overland is also my favorite platform with that engine. If yo have quadradrive and a 4.7l engine you have the best jeep possible.

Leiter, you try the intake yet?

I'll be sure to let you know!

I haven't done any offroading because the stabilizer and brakes need to be replaced first.

Oh, and if anyone feels like getting dirty on this, I'd appreciate the help. I was good with the SRT, but Jeeps and Trucks in general are not my area of expertise.

steering stabilizers are pretty cheap usually

and as far as brakes go, go with oem re-manufactured brakes. they are cheap and guaranteed forever

I'm actually trying to hold out (as they still work, just not good enough for parking on a 30% grade or anything like that) for a new set of axles

I'd really like to be able to drop about $6k on the Jeep. new motor, transmission, lift, axles and a few toys to go along with it all.
